Audio Logo and HEINZ-GLAS develop a Video Flacon
Honored with reddot Design Award
Future technologies such as virtual reality and intelligent apps have also found their way into the cosmetics industry. HEINZ-GLAS – an internationally renowned glass manufacturer with in-depth expertise in perfume bottle manufacturing – has picked up on the BeautyTech trend and, in cooperation with Audio Logo, developed a digital perfume bottle that is able to play videos, audio and photos. The combination of classic material, creativity and technological elements was also the decisive point for the jury of the reddot Award in awarding the coveted prize to the HEINZ-GLAS product.
Classic design meets high-tech
Our work consisted of development of electronics and molds to fit the glass flacon. A total of 30 copies were made, which were used as proof of concept and manufacturing, for photography work and for the consideration of the series for production. The refillable bottle has a 2.4 ”display, an integrated loudspeaker and a total of 128 MB of storage capacity. If one lifts the high-tech flacon, it will play previously selected videos, photos and/or music. These can be uploaded in AVI, QuickTime, WMV, mp4, JPG, BMP, PNG and GIF formats. The user can also personalize the bottle via the USB connection, for example with their own name or slogan.
